4c Oxycyte, as an intravenous compound, is an emulsion. However, in addition to formulating Oxycyte as an emulsion, the company has developed a unique and proprietary process to make a gel out of perfluorocarbons. The Oxycyte gel retains its superior oxygen delivery characteristics. We believe the silky, moist, oxygen-rich gel, which we’ve named Dermacyte, will promote skin health.

The company has also made a gel from Oxycyte that it believes can be useful in treating wounds by supplying oxygen to injured tissue from the outside in. When a wound heals, the speed of healing is largely dependant on how much oxygen the key tissues get during their healing phase. The company believes that this version of Oxycyte, which we’ve named Wundecyte™, can dramatically increase the speed of oxygen delivery, thereby increasing the speed of the healing.
